Questions and answers about winemap

What are the advantages of winemap?

The winemap simplifies the access to wine tastings at Swiss vintners for young and young-at-heart wine drinkers. Besides the platform, the team also takes care of the further development and the entire marketing. The winemaker benefits from more visibility among the younger target group and from a sustainable sales channel.

Why is there no direct booking option?

Wine producers are busy and often somehow working between the vines. Depending on the season, it is not possible for the winemaker to conduct wine tastings, as vineyard work has priority. In this respect, interested parties can make requests online - so each producer has the chance to accept or cancel wine tasting requests.

What does it cost a winemaker to be present on winemap?

There are two different packages: Magnum (quasi Basic) and Imperial (quasi Pro). The prices vary from CHF 34.90 per month in the first year up to CHF 49.90 - in the second year the fees increase by a few francs.

Do I give a share of the revenue when a tasting comes in via winemap?

Of course not. You only pay for the platform presence - all revenues from tastings flow directly into your cash register.

What is the vision of winemap?

With the help of winemap, we want to lower the inhibition threshold for a visit to a local producer. In addition, the winemap should present around 250 producers 12 months after the go live: A diverse selection that invites young wine enthusiasts to be inspired by new wine experiences in Switzerland.

Who is behind the winemap?

The weinkollektiv is the initiator of winemap. The collective facilitates young people the access to wine & knowledge. This in the form of creative events, courses, online tastings & co.

Are additional languages planned?

In addition to German, French and English will be launched in a few months. The profile translations will be done by the weinmap team. The FR version will be launched in summer 2021, the EN version at the end of the year.

I do not have a standard price for the tasting. And now?

In order for the filters to work, we recommend defining a standard tasting price. We know that tastings often cannot be marked with a clear price. The main goal is to give the end consumer a feeling for the price. As a winemaker, you can of course offer additional services on request: From snacks to the cellar tour.
